Everton and Manchester United have both been linked with Porto’s Primeira Liga centre-back Eder Militao.

The rising interest in Eder Militao has Porto on red alert.
The impressive young centre-back has turned plenty of heads since he arrived at the Estadio do Dragao from Brazilian giants Sao Paulo in the summer and is already being tipped to move to a bigger European league in the near future.
UOL Esporte claim that Everton have been keeping tabs on Eder and no wonder. The Toffees’ director of football, Marcel Brands, is renowned for spotting rough diamonds, having signed the likes of Dries Mertens, Kevin Strootman and Hirving Lozano before they became household names.
And, according to The Sun, Porto are responding to the speculation surrounding Eder’s future in bullish fashion, reinforcing their reputation as notoriously difficult negotiators.
“There is a termination clause, we are trying to negotiate to renew the contract and increase the clause,” president Pinto da Costa said in quotes reported by The Sun, who have credited Manchester United and Real Madrid with an interest in the one-time Brazil international.

The Sun adds that Eder currently has a £22 million release clause in his contract but Porto want to increase this to £45 million to ward off suitors.
Everton, however, have shown a willingness to break the bank since Farhad Moshiri became their majority shareholder in 2016, paying £40 million plus for both Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison.
Should Eder arrive at Goodison Park, he could replace the Chelsea loanee Kurt Zouma.
