Burnley midfielder Jeff Hendrick is somewhat of a divisive figure at Turf Moor.

Burnley confirmed that Jeff Hendrick has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until he summer of 2020, via their official website, and some Clarets fans took to Twitter in response to the news.
The 26-year-old joined Burnley from Derby County in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £10.5 million, and he has gone on to make 91 appearances for the Lancashire outfit, scoring five goals in the process.
The Republic of Ireland international hasn’t quite delivered for Burnley, however, considering his hefty price-tag.
It could be argued that he has often been played out of position, though, and therefore hasn’t been able to show his true worth.

Considering the fact that his contract has been extended by another year, however, Sean Dyche must have faith in the midfielder.
The same cannot be said for Burnley fans, who took to Twitter in response to the news of Hendrick’s contract being extended today…
