Paul Merson believes that Tottenham Hotspur star Heung-min Son is a manager’s dream as he rarely disappoints.

Paul Merson told Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday (15/12 from 12:00 pm) that Heung-min Son is a manager’s dream and said he could not speak high enough of the Spurs star.

Son has been excellent for Tottenham throughout the season. The South Korea international has reached double figures for Premier League goals in the last two campaigns and appears to be well on his way to doing that again this term.

He has scored three goals in his last five top flight appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, including a stunning strike away at Leicester before providing the assist for Spurs’ second goal.

And Merson admitted that Son may be one of the most important players in Tottenham’s squad as he rarely disappoints and does everything that Pochettino could possibly want from him.

“I think this lad’s a proper player. I’m a massive fan of this lad,” he told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports.

“That is a proper goal [his strike against Leicester]. He knows what he’s going to do before he gets the ball and lets it run across his body. Brilliant player. Never, ever, ever lets you down. He is a manager’s dream, I couldn’t talk higher of him.”

Unsurprisingly, Son has already featured in almost every role in attack this season. He is the kind of player that Pochettino can have complete faith in no matter what is asked of him.

BBC Sport reported that he cost £22 million in 2015. And in today’s game, that has to be conceded an absolute bargain given that he rarely fails to make an impact and is capable of some outrageous moments of quality – as shown in the win at Leicester.
