The youngster left West Ham in the summer, with Watford snapping him up.
And Quina’s start at Watford has suggested that West Ham may well have made a mistake by letting him go.
Quina scored his first Premier League goal at the weekend, as the Hornets beat Cardiff City.
And Redknapp says that he knew all about Quina’s talents throughout his time at West Ham.
“I heard good things about Domingos Quina when he was rising through the academies at Chelsea and then West Ham,” Redknapp said.
“After his brilliant strike for Watford against Cardiff, some have questioned whether West Ham will regret letting him go to Vicarage Road.
“That may prove to be the case but the problem clubs are finding is that their young stars are not afraid to move in pursuit of regular football. Jadon Sancho has blazed a trail for teenagers playing in this country.”
West Ham could actually have benefitted from having a player like Quina in their ranks, as he would have provided them energy from midfield.
However, even without the prospect, West Ham are starting to click into gear now.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side have now won four matches on the bounce to move up to ninth in the Premier League table.
