Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Chelsea-owned midfielder Lewis Baker against Bolton Wanderers.
Baker, who joined Leeds on loan from Premier League club Chelsea in the summer transfer window, featured for the Whites in their Championship game against Bolton away from home at the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The 23-year-old midfielder started the game and played for the first half, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side won 1-0.
The youngster did not do well during his time on the pitch, which is why Leeds head coach Bielsa decided to take him off.
According to WhoScored, the former England Under-21 international took one shot and had a pass accuracy of 95.5%.
The midfielder has made two starts and nine substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds so far this season, according to WhoScored.
The Whites are at the top of the league table at the moment and are among the favourites to get automatic promotion to the Championship.
Leeds fans were not impressed with the performance of Baker - who earns £20,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com - and have criticised him on Twitter.
Below are some of the best comments:
#lufc Conclusions from today: Bamford is class, Baker doesn’t fit, need to cut out the sloppy errors at the back, Marcelo may want a keeper more assured with the ball at his feet than BPF. Need to be able to ‘turn the screw’ in games. We’re the team to beat!— Richardofyorks (@richardofyorks) December 15, 2018
Hmmm not sure. Both deem themselves to be attacking players. Baker offers nothing for me. #lufc— Callum #LUFC (@21_lufc) December 15, 2018
Not the best of performances. Disappointed by Baker again, just doesn’t seem to be working for him. Great finish by @Patrick_Bamford, natural goal scorer. And @JackClarke09 impressed again. What a player he’s going to be #lufc— SamKWhitaker (@SamKWhitaker) December 15, 2018
Lewis Baker is following perfectly in the footsteps of Townsend and Barkley in looking very average while at #LUFC.— Johnboy (@_Johnboy_) December 15, 2018
Pretty much nailed on to make the Euro 2020 England squad.
Lewis Baker isn’t cut out for this. I can’t say I’ve ever been truly impressed with anything I’ve seen from day one #lufc— MG (@TheMichaelGale) December 15, 2018
Baker is poor should be nowhere near the starting 11 #lufc— Louie Harris (@louieharris1919) December 15, 2018
Send him back, waste of wages imho— yorkielad (@leedsio) December 15, 2018
Yep. Not sure about Baker. This was a great chance to steak a claim to a regular starting spot before Brown is fully fit and ready to play. Not done himself any favours.— andrew walker (@andrewlufc17) December 15, 2018
Baker is rubbish!! Clarke quality. Phillips man of the match #lufc— Johnny F (@JF_LUFCmod) December 15, 2018
Can we send Baker back in January he is not the answer to anything! #lufc— Paul Butler (@paulbutler1983) December 15, 2018
