Aston Villa continue to entertain under Dean Smith, as they took a point against Stoke City in a 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon.

Villa drew at West Bromwich Albion last weekend and were looking to get back to winning ways with a home game against Stoke.

Joe Allen’s 47th minute goal put Stoke in front, and chaos ensued late on with three goals in the final 20 minutes.

Tammy Abraham scored from the penalty spot, before Stoke got a spot kick of their own, and converted it through Benik Afobe, only for Jonathan Kodjia to rescue a point for Villa.

That result keeps Villa in the hunt for the top six, just three points off the play-offs, but did still highlight some of their deficiencies right now.

Some players didn’t quite flouish at Villa Park, and one player fans really weren’t impressed with was midfielder Conor Hourihane.

The 27-year-old wasn’t at his best, and fans slated him on Twitter by calling him ‘pointless’ and ‘the most overrated Villa player ever’, with the Irishman receiving pelters from his own fans after Saturday’s showing.
