Bundesliga ace Florian Grillitsch impressed against Manchester City in the Champions League and could now move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Hoffenheim might have been beaten at Manchester City in midweek, seeing any hopes of a route into the Europa League collapse, but Julian Nagelsmann’s side went out with their heads held high.
And it seems the solid, tidy performance of Florian Grillitsch in the centre of the park has enhanced his growing reputation. According to Bild, the Austrian midfielder is a target for North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur heading into the January transfer window.
With the futures of Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama in doubt, it is no secret that Spurs are scouring the market for new additions, and Grillitsch would look a potentially inspired signing with his display at The Etihad in mind.
The 23-year-old, who moved to Hoffenheim from Werder Bremen in 2017, is a reliable presence in front of his defence, putting out fires and distributing the ball effectively.
He has started 11 Bundesliga games this season and, if he can adapt to the high-octane and expansive style favoured by Nagelsmann, he should have few problems fitting in at Tottenham under Mauricio Pochettino.
Bild add that Grillitsch’s agent, Thomas Bohm, headed to England last week to discuss his client’s future.
