Hearts midfielder Sean Clare has spoken about being compared with Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli.

Hearts midfielder Sean Clare has admitted that he is “a little bit” annoyed at being compared with Tottenham man Dele Alli.
According to TeamTalk, the 22-year-old was touted to move to a number of big-name clubs in the summer, with the likes of Everton and Spurs vying for his signature after his contract ran out at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
Instead, the highly-rated youngster opted to move up north to Scottish Premiership side Hearts, who are currently three points off leaders Celtic, albeit the current champions do have two games in hand.
Clare is a versatile midfielder, who is comfortable on the ball, but he has not been able to showcase his ability on a consistent basis due to the number of clubs he has played for in the early part of his career.

The London-born player has represented five different clubs but has only made 53 appearances in total as he aims to make a name for himself.
The Scottish-based player admitted that he has a long way to go to reach Alli’s level as he expressed his annoyance at being compared with the England international.
“It’s similar to when people have said I’m like Dele Alli,” Clare told the Edinburgh Evening News.
“I’ve never said that. A lot of people think I said it but I’ve never said it. It’s a great thing to hear but there’s a long way to go before I reach the levels of any of those players.
“Yeah, a little bit (irked at Alli comparisons). A lot of people assume I said it myself, that I’m like Dele Alli. Personally, I don’t even think we play in a similar way. I think it’s got a lot to do with how we look and maybe our running styles. It’s nice to hear things like that but I’ve never said it and I have a good distance to go before I’m at that level.”
