Andy Dallas’ stunning run of form continued on Thursday as he scored twice for Rangers’ reserves side in their stunning victory over Rapid Vienna ahead of the first-team’s Europa League tie.

Rangers – who had Jordan Rossiter in the starting lineup after his omission from Steven Gerrard’s European squad – got off to a terrible start in the Austrian capital as they fell 2-0 behind inside the first-half.

But both Josh McPake and Dallas bagged braces as Graeme Murty’s men claimed the 4-2 victory. The forward’s first came from a superb lob over the goalkeeper after using his strength to get away from the defender.

That goal made the score 2-2 with just over 10 minutes remaining. Seven minutes earlier, they had been 2-0 down.

And Dallas soon made the scoreline 3-2 as he got on the end of a cross from Rossiter, before McPake secured the win in stoppage-time.

Unsurprisingly, a number of Gers fans are seriously excited about Dallas’ form. He has been scoring for fun for Murty’s men, and with The Scottish Sun reporting that Umar Sadiq’s loan is about to come to an end, there are plenty of supporters who want Dallas promoted.

Gerrard may have had other priorities, but there is no question that he would have been hugely impressed by the impact that Dallas made and must, at least, be considering bringing the 19-year-old into the first-team fold in the near future.
