It seems that Queens Park Rangers are hoping to trim the fat from their squad in the January transfer window and Paul Smyth could be one of the first to go.
The 21-year-old winger has barely been seen in QPR colours this season and has not made a single Championship appearance since he was hauled off at half-time in a 2-1 home defeat to Sheffield United in August.
Smyth, who enjoyed a lively start to his Rs career after joining from Linfield in 2017, has been expected to leave on loan midway through his second season at Loftus Road.
And the Mirror (13 December, page 64) has now reported that the winger could be heading to Peterborough United, with Steve Evans’ side understood to be lining up a swoop for the Northern Ireland international.
Peterborough are currently fourth in the League One table with promotion in their sights.
Smyth is unlikely to be the only QPR youngster on his way out of West London next month.
WLS have reported that Osman Kakay, Ilias Chair and former Manchester United youngster Sean Goss are also expected to leave on a temporary basis.
