Newly-promoted Wolves are renowned for their Portuguese links.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are likely to be busy in the January transfer window once again, as the influence of Jorge Mendes has seen them go from a mediocre Championship into a more than respectable Premier League outfit.
The Portuguese contingent at Molineux remains aplenty, with manager Nuno Espirito Santo joined by the likes of Joao Moutinho, Rui Patricio, Ruben Neves, Ivan Cavaleiro, Helder Costa and Diogo Jota among others.
They could add another name to that list in the window, in the form of Leicester City midfielder Adrien Silva who is struggling for game time under current manager Claude Puel.
The Telegraph claims Leicester are willing to allow the Sporting Lisbon icon to leave the club on loan in the January transfer window, having managed just 21 appearances in all competitions since his £22million move to The King Power.
This season, he has managed just five appearances in all competition, failing to be included in a Premier League matchday squad since September 22.
Silva will be more than familiar with a number of Wolves’ players, after playing alongside Moutinho and Patricio during Portugal’s Euro 2016 triumph. He has a contract at Leicester until the summer of 2021.
But Wolves may be tempted to add to their Portuguese core by bringing Silva to the Midlands, with a move certainly benefiting all parties involved.
Leicester would finally get a chunk of Silva’s pay cheque off their wage bill, while a strong second half to the season could provide the Foxes with a player rejuvenated and ready to make an impact.
Wolves would benefit by bringing in a player with bags of experience and quality, and Silva would finally get the chance to start playing regularly again. A perfect move for all involved.
