Footage has emerged on social media of Queens Park Rangers striker Nahki Wells congratulating Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe after the Whites ace scored a penalty on Saturday – and Leeds fans want Wells signed.

Leeds earned a fourth consecutive win over Steve McClaren’s QPR, despite going behind to Wells’ first-half strike. A brace from Roofe earned another three points for the Whites – and took the striker into double figures for the season.

Wells gave QPR with the lead as he chased down a ball over the top and finished superbly past Bailey Peacock-Farrell. Roofe equalised, flicking in Pablo Hernandez’s toe-poke before converting a penalty – the first for Leeds in 59 games.

Since the match, a short video has made its way to Twitter, showing Burnley loanee Wells shaking hands with Roofe immediately after the former Oxford United’s second goal for Leeds.

Since joining QPR, Wells has been crucial to McClaren’s turning around of the club’s form, scoring four goals in 16 games. Though the return is not the best, it is his hard work and perseverance that has helped QPR along the way.

The Daily Mail claimed Thomas Christiansen wanted to sign Wells in the summer of 2017, but instead the 28-year-old joined Burnley for a fee of £5million (BBC Sport). The move has failed, with the Bermuda international playing just 10 times.

Now, after watching the video, Leeds fans have considered the possibility of adding Wells to the side ahead of the January transfer window. One fan said he would be a “good signing.”
