Noel Whelan shared his opinion on Leeds United star Samuel Saiz on the Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6:40pm, December 7, 2018).

The former Leeds striker gave his take on Saiz, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, while discussing whether or not the 27-year-old should start against Queens Park Rangers at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Whelan said about Saiz on the Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6:40pm, December 7, 2018): “We do know that Saiz is a special player with loads of talent and ability, but can he do the horrible side as well? That’s what I need to see.”

Stats

Saiz - who stands at 5 ft 9 in - is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Championship, but the Spaniard is struggling to hit his best form at the moment.

The 27-year-old has provided four assists in 14 Championship starts for Leeds so far this season, according to WhoScored.

During the 2017-18 campaign, the former Huesca star scored five goals and provided seven assists in 28 league starts for the Whites, according to WhoScored.

Saiz is important in the current Leeds set-up, but the attacking midfielder does have to help out defensively and contribute when the opposition is on the attack.
