Work on Tottenham Hotspur's new arena has overrun this season.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters yesterday, and opened up on a conversation that he shared recently with Daniel Levy, joking that he isn't the Spurs Chairman's priority anymore, as quoted by Football.London.
The Lilywhites have made a solid start to their 2018/19 campaign, but their delayed move to their new 62,000 capacity home has been a real inconvenience for the club.
Tottenham have been forced to play all of their home games at Wembley, and whilst they have enjoyed some fine results at the home of the England national team, Spurs fans will surely be desperate to move to their new home.
Pochettino and Levy will also be yearning for the day when Spurs actually have a permanent home.
The Argentine addressed the media during his pre-match press conference yesterday, and opened up on a joke that he shared with his chairman during the week, as quoted by Football.London:
"In the last two weeks, I crossed one message with him. He is so involved with the stadium, I think he is working there! I promise in the last two weeks I have barely spoken to him. I joked and said, 'Daniel, am I not your priority anymore?' He said, 'Yesterday I spent two hours trying to sort out your Christmas present!' Maybe he is preparing the stadium! He said he is going to surprise me."
Tottenham are aiming to play their first game at their new home on January 13th against Manchester United, and what an incredible spectacle that will surely be.
