Southampton lost to Cardiff City in the Premier League on Saturday.
Francis Benali has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Southampton’s defeat to Cardiff City.
The Saints suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Cardiff away from home at the Cardiff City Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Callum Paterson’s goal in the 74th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides who are aiming to escape the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season.
The defeat to Cardiff means that the Saints are now second from bottom in the Premier League table with just nine points from 16 matches.
Southampton legend Benali was following the match, and he has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the final result.
While the former full-back has criticised a couple of refereeing decisions, he has also pointed at the mistake from 26-year-old Denmark international central defender Jannik Vestergaard, who joined Southampton from Borussia Monchengladbach for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £18 million.
Costly error for the goal from Vestergaard, but #SaintsFC should have had 2 penalties given by referee Jon Moss!
