The additions of Sebastian Haller and Miguel Almiron in January would transform Newcastle United’s attack for the second half of the season.

The Northern Echo have claimed that Haller is Newcastle’s top target for the next transfer window, while the Chronicle have suggested that a deal for Almiron is already sewn up.

Although there is still some doubt over the Almiron transfer, Newcastle’s interest does appear to be genuine.

And if Rafael Benitez is able to bring in the attacking pair then Newcastle will be a much better side for it.

Haller would have the potential to be a destructive force in the Magpies’ attack, and he would increase their goalscoring threat.

The 24-year-old has hit nine goals in 13 games for Eintracht Frankfurt this season, and he has proven a huge danger in the Bundesliga.

With Almiron in the number 10 role behind him, Haller could have all the service he needs to recreate those sort of figures in England too.

Almiron is wonderfully blessed with the ball at his feet, and he possesses a great amount of creativity.

And if Benitez’s reportedly planned double swoop does come off for Newcastle then it should seriously excite the St. James’ Park crowd.
