Sheffield Wednesday are not having the best time at present, sitting just five points clear of the Championship's relegation zone.

The Owls have won just one of their last eight Championship games, losing six of those, and an increasing number of fans are getting increasingly frustrated with Jos Luhukay's management.

In a further blow, Fernando Forestieri has been ruled out for six weeks - the entirety of the busy festive period - due to a hamstring injury, the Owls manager confirmed in his press conference.

The 28-year-old tore his muscle after stepping off the bench in last week's defeat at Blackburn Rovers, and scans now have revealed the full extent of the damage.

Forestieri has blown hot and cold somewhat this season, scoring three goals and putting in some decent displays, but also failing to nail down a first-team place due to injuries and suspensions.

All in all, the Italo-Argentine forward has made just six starts this term, and news of his injury were met with a mixed reception by Wednesday fans on Twitter:

Others, meanwhile, laid the blame at the club and their medical team:

Forestieri has made 101 appearances for Wednesday since his 2015 move from Watford, scoring 35 goals and registering 16 assists (Transfermarkt).
