The 21-year-old midfielder has also been linked with Manchester City and Barcelona, but nobody looks set to sign him in January judging by his comments.
Despite being just 21 years old, the Dutchman has developed into a star player since coming through the ranks at Willem II and subsequently joining the Ajax academy.
De Jong already has 59 professional appearances to his name for Ajax, scoring four goals with 10 assists, according to Transfermarkt.
In addition, he has five Netherlands caps, especially impressing in recent fixtures against France and Germany.
With all the hype around him, De Jong could be forgiven for feeling a little overwhelmed in terms of where he sees his future.
However, in an interview with The Guardian, the Holland starlet has given little away, except suggesting that he will be going nowhere in January by pledging to stay until the end of the season.
“It’s difficult to say what will happen,” said De Jong. “I want to finish this season well with Ajax. Then we will see. Maybe I’ll stay for another year, maybe I’ll leave. But I am not sure.”
When asked about what he makes of the speculation, he replied: “I don’t pay attention to it. I hear the stories but I just want to finish this season well.”
