Rangers will take on bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on December 29.
Jelavic is now based in China and is playing for Guizhou Zhicheng, and the 33-year-old Croatian striker has revealed that he plans to attend the Old Firm derby this month.
The former Hull City and West Ham United striker - who joined Everton from Rangers in January 2012 for a transfer fee reported by The Scottish Sun to be worth £5.5 million - has revealed that he plans to return to Ibrox for the match with his former Gers teammate Sasa Papac.
The Scottish Sun quotes Jelavic as saying: “Hopefully I can get back to experience it all again in a few weeks at Ibrox and I’m planning on asking Sasa to come with me.
“It will be very exciting to go back to see Ibrox again after all these years and hopefully another victory against Celtic too. That would honestly be unbelievable.”
Both Rangers and Celtic are challenging for the Scottish Premiership title this season, and the Old Firm derby at Ibrox will be massive.
Although it will not be a title-decider, the winners of the match will certainly get a physiological boost.
