The Tottenham Hotspur star is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
Tottenham star Kieran Trippier spoke to reporters after his side's fine 3-1 win over Southampton on Wednesday night, and raved about the performance of his teammate Hugo Lloris, labelling him as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, as quoted by the club's official website.
Lloris, 31, joined Spurs from Lyon in the summer of 2012, for what now seems like an absolute bargain fee of just £8 million, and he has gone on to make 268 appearances in all competitions.
The France international he been an excellent performer for Tottenham, although he has received criticism from some sections of the media recently.
Lloris returned to his best against Southampton on Wednesday, however, and Trippier did not hold back when praising the Frenchman, suggesting that the goalkeeper is one of the best in his field, as quoted by the club's official website:
“Hugo pulled off one magnificent save. It was an unbelievable save and he does that on a weekly basis. He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world in my view."
Tottenham face Leicester City next, and Lloris will likely be called into action on numerous occasions at the King Power Stadium.
Spurs will need to beat the Foxes, if they are to keep the pressure up on Manchester City above them in the table, and Lloris will have to be on top form between now and the end of the season for their Premier League title dream to remain alive.
