West Ham United's Angelo Ogbonna celebrates scoring his sides second goal

For the second time this month, Spanish giants Valencia have been linked with a West Ham United player.

Calciomercato claimed earlier this week that the La Liga outfit are hoping to sign Javier Hernandez at the turn of the year and it seems that centre-back Angelo Ogbonna is on Valenica’s radar, too.

Because Goal are claiming that Los Che have made the Italian international their top target heading into the January transfer window and have already opened initial talks with West Ham.

Ogbonna moved to the Hammers in 2015 from Juventus for a fee of around £10 million, according to ESPN.

But he has fallen down the pecking order since Manuel Pellegrini replaced David Moyes in the dugout, starting just three Premier League games with Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena establishing themselves as the club’s first-choice central defensive partnership.

It remains to be seen, however, whether West Ham are willing to cash in on Ogbonna midway through the campaign, especially after he impressed in a rare start against Cardiff City on Wednesday night.

Valencia are stuck in 14th in the La Liga table right now but have conceded just 11 goals, with their problems lying at the other end of the pitch.
