Aston Villa fans have called for Dean Smith to keep Ahmed Elmohamady in their starting line-up over Alan Hutton.
Hutton was suspended at the weekend and missed out on playing in Villa’s match against Middlesbrough.
In his absence, the claret and blues put in one of their finest performances of the season, as they won 3-0 at the Riverside Stadium.
Elmohamady’s performance in the contest was excellent, as he caused problems both in attack and defence.
And Villa fans now want Elmohamady to retain his place in their starting line-up.
Elmo. He offers more options. Better at defending and also his crossing is better.— Bob (@Toronto_Bob) December 7, 2018
start Elmo over Hutton. PLEASE— Charlie (@AVCJX) December 7, 2018
Really hope Deano goes with the same team that started Saturday. I like Kodjia but El Ghazi was superb and deserves to keep his place. Kodjia can make a big impact off the bench. Elmo is just better than Hutton.— Chez Avfc (@AvfcUTV1) December 6, 2018
100% agree. El Ghazi and Elmo should shut down their left side.— Boycey (@Boycey1259) December 6, 2018
Yep hopefully the same goes for Hutton as Elmo was top drawer— Jordan Spencer (@JordAvfc) December 5, 2018
Hutton only gets up there quick enough because he’s normally either out of position already up there, or he’s totally abandoned his defensive responsibilities. Elmo would be told to go and join when he can, I think Elmo has a lot to offer.— Phil Roberts (@iamVilla) December 4, 2018
Elmo has to play Friday, the thought of Barnes against Hutton down the right is giving me palpatations— Dale (@DaleAC231) December 3, 2018
Villa’s match tonight looks highly important as it comes against West Bromwich Albion.
If Smith’s side can continue their good form they can strike a blow to the Baggies’ promotion chances, while strengthening their own.
Villa are currently in eighth place in the Championship table, and could move up as high as fifth, if they are victorious tonight.
