Jose Mourinho wanted his players to show their ‘Mad Dog’ spirit as the in-form Arsenal arrived at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, as reported by The Guardian. And Marcos Rojo didn’t miss his chance to remind his beleaguered boss that he has plenty of bite.

The ankle-biting Argentine’s first Premier League appearance of the season might have been overshadowed somewhat by an unfortunate own goal in the 2-2 draw with Unai Emery’s side but his overall display was chock-full of positives.

Rojo was typically wild-eyed and tenacious in the challenge, showing a remarkable will to win and setting up Anthony Martial’s 30th minute strike with a brilliant curling free-kick that Bernd Leno could only palm back into play.

And with Everton and Wolves reportedly circling, Rojo’s encouraging play will surely have caught the eye of his suitors.

The Metro claimed in November that Everton had entered talks about signing the £18 million-rated defender with Wolverhampton Wanderers also understood to be interested. Rojo looks a perfect fit for Nuno Espirito Santo’s three-man defence.

But with Manchester United fans taking to Twitter in admiration of their seldom-seen centre-back, it seems that a January sale wouldn’t go down too well.
