Naby Keita produced arguably his best Premier League performance as Liverpool won 3-1 away at Burnley on Wednesday night.

Jurgen Klopp recently predicted that Naby Keita would be a ‘massive player’ for Liverpool in the coming years, in quotes reported by Goal. And, having returned to full fitness after an injury-hit start to life at Anfield, the all-action midfielder is starting to justify his manager’s praise.

Because Keita, a £52.75 million signing from RB Leipzig (Sky Sports), produced his best display in English football away at Burnley on Wednesday night and showed the Liverpool fans what he is set to bring to their title-chasing team.

James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri were on target as the Reds prevailed 3-1 at Turf Moor, but it was Keita who caught the eye. The Guinea international was the man who made things happen, highlighting his ability to dominate a game from the centre of the park.

And he was only denied a maiden Liverpool goal by a brilliant Joe Hart save.

Reacting on Twitter, Liverpool’s 2005 Champions League winning forward Luis Garcia has paid tribute to Keita’s performance, labelling the midfielder his Man of the Match.

Whether Keita can now establish himself as a regular starter under Klopp remains to be seen. The German manager can already call upon the likes of Milner, Gini Wijnaldum, Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson.
