Aston Villa boss Dean Smith spoke to reporters ahead of his side's clash with West Brom tomorrow, and took time to praise Baggies hitman Dwight Gayle, stating that he has witnessed first hand how dangerous he can be, as quoted by the club's official YouTube account.
Gayle, 28, joined West Brom on a season long loan from Newcastle United in the summer, and he has made a fine start to life in the Black Country, chalking up nine goals in 17 Championship appearances thus far.
Aston Villa will certainly have to keep a close eye on the former Crystal Palace hitman tomorrow night, as they look to make it a return of 16 points from their last six league outings.
Darren Moore has only started Gayle in 12 league games this season, but he will surely be tempted to bring him back into the team for tomorrow night's derby.
Smith spoke to reporters, and warned his team of the threat that the 28-year-old poses, as quoted by the club's official YouTube account:
"Dwight Gayle, I saw him first hand when he was at Newcastle United, in this league, and he can score goals. They've got a lot of Premier League quality within their squad."
Villa will be looking to keep the pressure up on the top six with a win tomorrow night, whilst West Brom need a victory to cement their place inside the play-off spots, and increase their chances of finishing inside the top two.
