The race for Emiliano Sala is hotting up.
The Argentinian striker is a man in demand right now after a flying start to the new Ligue 1 season, scoring 11 goals in just 12 starts for Nantes.
Sala has already been linked with a number of Premier League clubs, including Everton, Wolves, Crystal Palace and West Ham according to the Mail.
And the Mail has now thrown a new name into the frame – Burnley.
Sean Dyche’s side qualified for the Europa League last season but it seems that similar heroics are beyond the Clarets right now. They failed to produce a single shot on target in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Crystal Palace, a result that leaves them second bottom in the Premier League with just nine points to their name.
Burnley have also scored just 13 times, two more than Sala has netted on his own. The Mail adds that Nantes could be willing to let their talisman go in January given that he has just 18 months left on his contract, but will demand £25 million.
That fee would make Sala comfortably Burnley’s record signing.
But standing at 6ft 3ins, the former Bordeaux forward could prove a perfect fit for Dyche’s typically direct style.
