Bailey Peacock-Farrell has kept two clean sheets since returning to Leeds United’s first team and even made a dramatic penalty save in the dying seconds to secure a 1-0 home win against Reading last Tuesday.
But that has not stopped the critics from coming out in force against the 21-year-old Whites goalkeeper.
Peacock-Farrell was on the winning side again as Marcelo Bielsa’s side triumphed away at Sheffield United for the first time since 1992 but the shot-stopper has once again seen his place in the first team come under question.
“His judgement, time and again, is really not good,” Goodman said. “He’s flapping at crosses, he’s rushing off his line and missing the ball.
“It’s going to cost Leeds if he keeps doing that.”
Peacock-Farrell has undoubted potential but the Darlington-born ‘keeper has certainly made a few costly mistakes of late, especially in the 4-1 thrashing at West Brom in early November.
And he needs to step up between now and the turn of the year with Leeds seemingly scouring the market for a more experienced goalkeeper. The Sun say that The Whites want Burnley’s England international Tom Heaton while Rangers’ bench-warmer Wes Foderingham has been linked by The Express.
