Bring Me The Horizon, the British metalcore band, performs a live concert at Falconer Salen in Copenhagen.
All Points East is shaping up nicely as they add Christine and The Queens to their already star-studded lineup. The festival, that takes place in East London, is clearly stating its intentions by booking some of the biggest names in the business.
Despite names only appearing sparsely across ticket selling websites; the line-up is beginning to compete with the other big British festivals. Friday 24th of May features Little Simz, an Islington born rapper, singer and actress who toured with Gorillaz and has received praise from Dizzee Rascal and Kendrick Lamar, she is certainly one to look out for. Higher on the bill for Friday you’ll see Primal Scream, Hot Chip and The Chemical Brothers. Quite a line-up.
Little Simz opens for Gorillaz at Zenith de Paris on November 24, 2017 in Paris, France.
The Saturday certainly has some room for improvement. Except for Christine and The Queens and Metronomy, I’m struggling to see any names that really add much to the roster in terms of musical diversity. My only hope is that a young London grime artist finds themselves somewhere on the bill for Saturday, the likes of AJ Tracey or Dave certainly wouldn’t go amiss.
Bring Me The Horizon, arguably the biggest metal band in Britain, confirmed at their Alexandra Palace show a few nights ago that they are performing at All Points East. However this is yet to be confirmed by the festival themselves. Bring Me The Horizon have played Reading numerous times and are a band that always bring energy to their live shows, if they were to secure a headline slot on the Saturday at All Points East, it would be nothing short of unforgettable.
Justin Vernon of Bon Iver performs at Wembley Arena on November 8, 2012 in London, England.
The Sunday is headlined by Bon Iver, an American Indie band fronted by Justin Vernon. The bands unique and sometimes unsettling sound has proved hugely popular with a wide and diverse audience. Kanye West, a frequent collaborator, refers to Justin Vernon as his “favourite living artist” and I can certainly see why.
So far so good for All Points East – a line-up that is certainly looking to surpass last years. With the yet to be confirmed addition of Bring Me The Horizon and many artists yet to be announced, this is truly starting to look unmissable.
