Newcastle United lost to West Ham United at St. James’ Park on Saturday.
Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Christian Atsu against West Ham United.
Atsu featured for Newcastle in their Premier League game against West Ham at St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.
The 26-year-old winger did not start the match, but the former Chelsea man came on as a substitute on 54 minutes.
The Ghana international struggled to make an impact on the match and did not do much of note during his time on the pitch, as the Hammers won 3-0.
According to WhoScored, Atsu - who earns £30,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com - took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 85.7%, and made one tackle and one key pass.
The defeat to the Hammers came after three successive wins for Newcastle, who remain in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Newcastle fans were not impressed with the performance of Atsu and have criticised the former Chelsea winger on Twitter.

Manquillo, Joselu, Atsu and Hayden have played far more Premier League games than they ever deserved to. This is Mike Ashley’s #NUFC— Rohan Banerjee (@RBanerjee23) December 1, 2018
Has their ever been a worse left hand side in premier league football than Manquillo and Atsu? #NUFC— Jamie (@thejamieherd) December 1, 2018
Pathetic performance from us today, to lose 0-3 at home against West Ham is actually embarrassing. Perez was shocking today, needs dropping. Manquillo and Atsu should never been in the squad again. But hopefully we can get something at Everton on Wednesday. #NEWWHU #nufc— Scott (@scxttnufc) December 1, 2018
Just for clarity (and I mostly agree) Wilshere was free. Atsu cost like £5m— Dan Chambers (@danchambers49) December 1, 2018
Alot of mistakes tactically by Rafa today.. Manquillo is NOT a LB or even a premierleague footballer! Atsu brings NOTHING to the game! Perez is NOT a number 10 #nufc— BigLou (@biglou1414) December 1, 2018
We’ve got so many championship standard players. Perez, Manquillo, Atsu, Joselu, and that’s just who’s played today. No surprise we’re kicking it with Cardiff really. #NUFC— Jamie Pratt (@Jimbodinhi) December 1, 2018
Never used to mind atsu, always been limited but now he just doesn’t seem to try. #nufc— JustCallMeBruce (@jscallmebruce) December 1, 2018
