Ellis Simms scored a brace and Anthony Gordon curled home a superb goal as the young Toffees reached the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.

Everton Under-18s put in a great performance on Saturday as they ran out 4-1 winners over their Sunderland counterparts in their FA Youth Cup third-round tie at Goodison Park.
The Toffees opened the scoring early in the first half when Mackenzie Hunt laid the ball off for in-form Ellis Simms to rifle into the roof of the Black Cats net.
Paul Tait’s charges continued to turn the screw against their opponents as Korede Adedoyin and skipper Einar Iversen weighed in with half chances.
Everton subsequently doubled their lead just before the break through Adedoyin, who headed home after connecting with a corner kick.
Sunderland improved after the restart and halved the deficit as Ryan Gooch made the most of a lapse in concentration at the back to fire beyond Harry Tryer.
However, the Toffees restored their two-goal advantage on 75 minutes when Anthony Gordon curled a superb shot into the net from just inside the area.

The rout was completed when Simms weighed in with a superb half-volley that kissed the woodwork en route to the back of the net, his 25th goal of the season.
Some Everton fans following the game took to Twitter at full time to praise Simms’ efforts and Gordon’s goal, which the club showed on their feed in GIF form:
