According to a report from German media outlet Sport Bild, Tottenham and Arsenal are lining up summer swoops for Hoffenheim attacking midfield ace Nadiem Amiri.

The 22-year-is currently out injured, and is still yet to feature for his club this season.

He is closing in on a return, however, so both Spurs and the Gunners will surely be keeping a close eye on his progress.

German publication Sport Bild claims that Amiri has a release clause of €17 million (£15.1 million) inserted into his contract, and Tottenham and Arsenal are keen to bring him to the Premier League.

The report suggests that Schalke are also interested, but Hoffenheim would prefer to sell him to a foreign club.

Amiri is an attacking midfielder by trade, but he can operate anywhere across the middle of the park, and that kind of versatility could prove to be very attractive to the north London clubs.

His poor injury record might prove to be a concern, however, although for the price of just £15.1 million, he will surely be worth the gamble.

Amiri is technically gifted, possesses a wide range of passing and is not afraid of putting in a shift.

Whether he is good enough to really improve either Tottenham or Arsenal, though, is up for debate.
