A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to urge David Stockdale to make the move to Elland Road after his loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers came to an end.

Stockdale was on Leeds' radar in the summer, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post. But the stopper ultimately remained on Birmingham City's books - and he may well be ruing not getting a permanent move elsewhere.

He joined Southend on an emergency deal in September after being frozen out by Garry Monk, and agreed similar terms with Wycombe this month. And after two appearances for the League One side, he is now back with the Blues after the loan came to an end.

Meanwhile, at Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa has just one senior goalkeeper available after Jamal Blackman's season came to a premature end due to injury.

The Whites cannot bring in an emergency stopper while Bailey Peacock-Farrell is fit, but some of the Elland Road faithful appear to have their eye on the January window.

Stockdale has endured a difficult time since moving to Birmingham, but he is a goalkeeper who boasts an enormous amount of experience and has won promotion to the Premier League on two occasions.

And after tweeting about his return to Birmingham - which some fans deemed to be slightly intriguing given his use of the word 'unfortunately' before the keeper clarified his situation - several Leeds fans expressed their hope that he will soon get the move that he did not secure in the summer.
