Liverpool's Champions League campaign is on the line after a 2-1 defeat to Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday night.

After the last-gasp defeat in Napoli, and the shock 2-0 loss at Red Star Belgrade, Liverpool fans were dreaming of a return to form in the Champions League on Wednesday night with a place in the knockout stages on the line.
But Jurgen Klopp's side were once again out of sorts, lacking any sort of attacking inspiration away to a Paris Saint Germain side who probably could not believe their luck.
First-half strikes from Juan Bernat and Neymar cost Liverpool dear, with the visitors only able to muster a James Milner penalty on the stroke of half-time. Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino were all well below their best while Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez and co hardly stepped up on the big occasion either.
Fortunately, the same could not be said about Alisson Becker. Without the Brazilian number one between the sticks, the scoreline could have been a lot worse than 2-1 in the French capital.

Alisson once again justified his £67 million transfer fee (Telegraph) with a confident and commanding performance between the sticks, making a string of important blocks and frequently cutting out PSG attacks with his intelligent positioning.
In fact, Alisson is perhaps the one Liverpool player to come out of the game with any credit.

Last night we all overlooked Alisson's performance. Made some incredible saves which kept us in the game. Otherwise it could've been even worse. #LFC

Alisson was our MOTM tonight without question. Was disappointed with the performances of virtually everybody else. #LFC

If anyone ever asks why we would pay mad money for Alisson, just watch this game. You will quickly realize it was Roma who was mad to give him up. #LFC #PSGLIV

I've got to say despite the result I thought Mane was outstanding tonight, only one who looked like he cared, rest of them were woeful. Honourable mention for Alisson also I struggle to believe there's a keeper playing better anywhere in Europe right now.⚽️ #LFC #UCL
