The former Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores has been cut to 5/1 with one bookmaker to become the next manager of Southampton.

Flores is now third favourite with Paddy Power - behind the Birmingham City boss Garry Monk (15/8) and the out-of-work Leonardo Jardim (11/4) - after leapfrogging David Moyes (15/2), Sam Allardyce and Steve Bruce (both 10/1).

The Spaniard, who is himself without a club after leaving Espanyol at the end of last season, managed Watford to 13th in the Premier League in 2015-16.

Pressure is mounting on Mark Hughes, with the Southampton boss having overseen a run of seven games without a win in all competitions.
