Report: Watford and Burnley to scout Young Boys' Loris Benito, whose contract situation has alerted Premier League clubs

A general view of Old Trafford ahead of the Premier League match between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford on March 10, 2018 in Manchester, England.

Benito could be the focus of Watford and Burnley attention at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Scouts from Watford and Burnley will watch Loris Benito against Manchester United on Tuesday, according to the Sun.

The left-back is due at Old Trafford with Swiss employers, Young Boys BSC.

He is out of contract at the end of the campaign, which the Sun claims has alerted several Premier League clubs, including Watford and Burnley - adding that a cut-price January transfer is possible.

At 26, Benito is a younger alternative to the respective Watford and Burnley left-backs, Jose Holebas (34) and Stephen Ward (33).

Jose Holebas of Watford FC in action during the Premier League match between Watford FC and AFC Bournemouth at Vicarage Road on October 6, 2018 in Watford, United Kingdom.

Stephen Ward of Burnley during the Premier League match between Fulham FC and Burnley FC at Craven Cottage on August 26, 2018 in London, United Kingdom.

The Switzerland international was previously on the books of FC Aarau, FC Zurich and Benfica, from whom he arrived at Young Boys for £2.7 million three years ago, according to Transfermarkt.

He has been capped twice by his country, for whom he is the understudy to AC Milan's Ricardo Rodriguez.

Would Benito be a good addition for Watford / Burnley?
