Grot has impressed at VVV-Venlo on loan from Leeds.
Jay-Roy Grot has continued to shine out on loan at Dutch top-tier side VVV-Venlo and the attacker posted a video on Instagram that will excite Leeds United fans.
The 20-year-old struggled at Elland Road last season following his £1.5million move (Express) to Yorkshire from Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen, managing only one goal in 23 league and cup outings.
Despite his age, sections of Elland Road support subjected the Netherlands Under-20 international to boos in one match, and he has since left the club on loan and returned to his home country.
He seems to be enjoying it back in Holland, and posted a video from Sunday’s 2-2 draw with AZ Alkmaar that sees Leeds star nutmeg two AZ players and go past a third before crossing the ball into the box.
Grot has clocked up 13 appearances for Venlo since joining the Dutch side on loan until the end of the season in the summer, scoring two goals for his loan side in wins over NAC Breda and Ado Den Haag.
It remains to be seen if the versatile star has much of a future left under Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds, with his four-year contract set to expire in the summer of 2021. But of all Leeds’ loanees, Grot is certainly one of the best performers.
