Joselu appears to have lost his place to Salomon Rondon as Newcastle United’s first-choice striker.

Paul Merson has told Sky Sports that he feels as if Salomon Rondon is a much more effective centre-forward for Newcastle United than Joselu was.
Newcastle go to Burnley on Monday night in search of a third successive Premier League win.
Rondon was the hero last time out as his brace against Bournemouth led to the Magpies’ second win of the campaign, with his first two goals in the league.
The Venezuelan’s second of the afternoon was particularly memorable, a thumping header to give Asmir Begovic no chance.
Joselu, a £5 million signing [BBC Sport] in 2017, has been an unused substitution in United’s last three games, and hasn’t started under Rafael Benitez in almost two months.
“He has put Salomon Rondon in – they needed a focal point, they were too weak, the ball was bouncing back too quick off Joselu,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“Whereas this lad…. What a header against Bournemouth! You cannot tell me that was not like Malcolm Macdonald or Alan Shearer, brave, put himself across the defender, no one was saving that.”
Winning at Turf Moor would be fantastic for Newcastle – and they just might.
Not only does Benitez have an in-form team and Rondon as the focal point, but Sean Dyche’s side haven’t won since September 30 and have conceded 15 goals in the five games since then.
The Clarets are in a funk and Newcastle will be hoping to keep them in it come Monday.
