Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing the Spaniard.

According to a report from the Sun, Arsenal are lining up a January swoop for Villarreal ace Pablo Fornals, as Unai Emery looks to bolster his midfield ranks at the Emirates.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form in Spain this season, notching three goals and two assists in 17 appearances in all competitions for Villarreal, including a 40-yard wonder strike against Athletic Bilbao.

According to the Sun, Fornals is available for just €20 million (£17.8 million) in January, and in today’s day and age, that would represent a real bargain for Arsenal.

The two-capped Spain international is a wonderfully gifted midfielder, and can play in a variety of positions, including central midfield, out wide, or in the number 10 role.

He also plays with a certain type of tenacity that makes him ideally suited to the robust nature of the Premier League.

Fornals would undoubtedly be a great addition for Arsenal, and his reported £17.8 million release clause makes a move for him almost a no-brainer.
