Roberto Firmino appears likely to be given a more prominent role within the Brazil setup in the coming months.

The Liverpool forward has often found himself playing second fiddle to Gabriel Jesus in the Selecao starting XI, with 17 of his 28 caps coming as a substitute.

This week, Tite confirmed that the 27-year-old is in line to start once again up front as Brazil prepare to face Cameroon at Stadium MK on Tuesday.

"Roberto Firmino is still a new player in the national team and so it's only fair to give him his chance to get used to that position and to create his understanding with the players around him," the head coach told reporters.

With the Copa America taking place next summer in Brazil, Firmino will undoubtedly be happy to be considered for a leading role ahead of such an illustrious tournament in his home country.
