Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a move for Toulouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo – but Juventus have reportedly bid already.

A recent report from La Depeche in France noted that Wolverhampton Wanderers hold an interest in signing young Toulouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo.
They’re not the only ones, however, with Liverpool suggested as another potential destination and reports this week from Calciomercato say that Juventus have gone as far as making a bid for the 18-year-old.
Todibo is yet to sign a professional contract with Toulouse, meaning his exit elsewhere seems almost guaranteed – something his agent, Bruno Satin, is not shy of admitting.
Recent comments from Satin on his client playing at the highest level do initially sound bad for Wolves, especially with Juventus’ offer, although something else he says could offer them a way in.
“Todibo wants to prove to himself at the highest level and isn’t afraid of having to deal with top players,” Satin told Tuttosport. “Surely the lad will go straight into the team he joins, without the need for any loans.
“Without wanting to disrespect anyone, there’s an English phrase that describes Todibo: if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.”
Now while there’s no denying that Liverpool and Juventus have better players than Wolves, what they don’t have is a guarantee that he’d be in and around the first team.

He’d be competing with Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Mehdi Benatia, and Daniele Rugani in Turin – surely too much for an 18-year-old.
In Liverpool there’s Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez – a young defender who’s looking for game time himself.
And so if Todibo is serious about prioritising an immediate impact at his next club, Wolves have found their in.
Guarantee him playing time and there’s no reason why they don’t have a shot at convincing the highly rated teenager to move to the Molineux.
