Rangers and Celtic could perhaps do with another centre-back and Livingston’s Craig Halkett has shone in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers fans must have had mixed feelings watching Craig Halkett and his Livingston teammates frustrate Celtic in Sunday’s 0-0 draw.
23-year-old Halkett started his career at Rangers all the way back in 2007 but was never given a chance and joined Livingston after being released two-and-a-half years ago. But the Scot has starred in his first season in top flight football, his solid display against Celtic merely the latest standout performance of an increasingly impressive campaign.
Flocking to Twitter after the game, Rangers fans made it clear whether or not Halkett would be welcomed back at Ibrox.

But Rangers are not the only Old Firm giants with a few defensive concerns.
Celtic’s backline has been a source of constant debate throughout 2018 and the problem will only get worse when Dedryck Boyata inevitably leaves and if Leicester City re-call the impressive Filip Benkovic.
Now, Celtic have history when it comes to targeting players who have impressed against them. The Hoops landed Jack Hendry from Dundee just three months after Brendan Rodgers sang his praises after a tight 1-0 win for the Champions – and Celtic should perhaps look to repeat the trick with Halkett.
Young at just 23 and with plenty of potential to improve, a move to Parkhead could help Halkett realise his undoubted potential.
