Celtic should be in the market for another striker in the January transfer window.
Having sold star striker Moussa Dembele to Lyon on deadline day in August, Celtic need to bring in another centre forward during the January transfer window.
The Bhoys have seen Odsonne Edouard impress, but Leigh Griffiths has been missing of late, and Brendan Rodgers must bring in at least one forward to bolster his ranks in January.
Another goalscorer could give Celtic the edge in the Scottish Premiership title race, and the Bhoys should have the money to bring in a new face when the window re-opens.
Guidetti hit 15 goals in 35 games during a loan spell at Celtic from Manchester City in the 2014-15 season, though he did suffer some form issues in the second half of the season.
Since then, the Swede has been over in Spain with Celta Vigo and now Alaves, where he penned a permanent deal over the summer after three goals in 17 league games on loan.
However, Guidetti's time with Alaves has been a struggle this term; he hasn't made a league appearance in more than a month, and the rumours that he could move on in January for first-team football at Galatasaray should alert Celtic.
A move back to Celtic may be somewhat appealing to Guidetti at this stage in his career, and he is entering his prime years at the moment, making him a major addition if Celtic can land him.
Rodgers may have concerns about Guidetti's work rate, but even just bringing in a goalscorer to compete with Edouard and Griffiths, or to make an impact from the bench, has to be a priority for Celtic – and Guidetti's potential availability should at least give Rodgers and co something to think about in their pursuit of a new striker.
