Glasgow Rangers winger Glenn Middleton got on the scoresheet at Ibrox in their emphatic 7-1 win.

Steven Gerrard has told Rangers’ official website that Glenn Middleton going away with Scotland’s under-19s is a major concern for him, and he urged the national side to look after the Gers starlet.
Middleton is all set to go to work with the national side for their upcoming games against Wales, San Marino and Sweden. And he goes into the international break on a major high.
It has been a remarkable week for the 18-year-old personally. He scored in the 4-3 defeat to Spartak Moscow on Thursday and bagged another goal to help Rangers to a 7-1 win over Motherwell on Sunday.
Middleton has forced his way into Gerrard’s plans on a much more regular basis recently. And that has prompted the Rangers boss to admit that he is now worried about the youngster’s workload with the series of international games on the horizon.

“He’s had a big week,” he told the club’s official website. “It’s very important that Scotland look after him. He’s got three games in 10 days which I’m very concerned about. I hope they show him the same care and attention that the people do at Ibrox.”
With Ryan Kent currently injured, it would be a major blow for Middleton to sustain any kind of problem while he is away with his national side over the next couple of weeks.

He is proving to be an important player for the Light Blues – which is incredibly impressive given how well Kent has adapted to life at Ibrox, how well Daniel Candeias is currently playing and the excitement surrounding Eros Grezda’s arrival in the summer.
And a good international break could be hugely beneficial for Middleton’s progress. But it is not difficult to understand why Gerrard would be keeping his fingers crossed that the winger comes through unscathed.
