West Ham United reportedly refused to sell Antonio to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the summer but what about in January?

West Ham United refused to sell Michail Antonio in the summer when Crystal Palace tried to bring the winger to Selhurst Park, according to the Sun (12 November, page 47).

But could that change in January, with Palace set to renew their interest in the 28-year-old?

Antonio has started just four of West Ham’s 12 Premier League games since Manuel Pellegrini took over at the London Stadium, and he was restricted to 26 minutes of action in the 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

With West Ham seemingly keen to add more attackers to their squad in January, the former Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday man could fall further down the pecking order.

This, therefore, could play into Crystal Palace’s hands. Roy Hodgson’s Eagles have scored just two home goals in the Premier League this season and both of those were Luka Milovojevic penalties.

So Antonio’s speed, directness and ability to play on either flank or up front on his own could give Crystal Palace a much needed option in attack.
