Newcastle got the better of Bournemouth 2-1 at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Salomon Rondon, signed on loan from Premier League club West Bromwich Albion in the summer transfer window, was the star of the show for the Magpies, as the 29-year-old Venezuela international scored both the goals for the Magpies.
Former Newcastle attacker Lovenkrands, who is now a coach at Rangers, has taken to Twitter to revel in the win for Rafael Benitez’s side against Bournemouth.
Steve Harper was also following the match, and the former Newcastle goalkeeper has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the final result.
The 43-year-old former Sunderland goalkeeper has stated that Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic – who earns £70,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – was outstanding for the Cherries.
The result means that Newcastle are now 14th in the Premier League table with nine points from 12 matches, just a point above the relegation zone.
As for Bournemouth, the Cherries are currently sixth in the standings with 20 points from 12 games.
