QPR fans react to McClaren being named Championship manager of the month

Queens Park Rangers were undefeated in October with four wins and a draw.

Queens Park Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to share that joy after Steve McClaren was awarded the SkyBet Championship Manager of the Month for October.

The Hoops gaffer endured a difficult start to life at Loftus Road but after an upturn in results, the former Derby County boss has been duly rewarded for his efforts.

After beating Reading 1-0, a credible 1-1 draw at home to the Rams demonstrated that Rangers were able to mix with the league's more fancied sides, acting as a springboard to go on and win their next three games without conceding.

Rightfully so, R's fans have heaped praise on McClaren and although defeat at Blackburn Rovers last week somewhat soured their good form, McClaren has proved he can start to take the club forward again.

A hat-trick of victories over Ipswich Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa further highlights McClaren's hard work but what is perhaps most noticeable about said victories is the fine defensive work that was on display.

Three consecutive clean sheets is no easy feat in England's second tier and with just one goal shipped throughout the whole month, it's easy to see why McClaren was the rightful winner.
