Rangers manager Steven Gerrard
The Liverpool legend, who was appointed as the Rangers manager in the summer, has also said that Katic is further ahead in his development at Ibrox than originally anticipated.
The 22-year-old defender joined Rangers from Slaven Belupo in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £2 million.
The Croatia international has made seven appearances in the Scottish Premiership, two in the Scottish League Cup, one in the Europa League and eight in the Europa League qualifying, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
Gerrard told The Daily Record about Katic: “Nikola has been bought for the future but really started well and has taken to life pretty quickly.
“He is probably further ahead than we thought but he will be managed slightly differently to Connor.”
Progressing at Rangers
Katic has made mistakes from time to time at Rangers so far, but overall the defender’s performance has been very encouraging.
It is clear that the 22-year-old is very talented, and the Croatia international is certainly one for the future.
What is important for Katic is that he continues to grow and develop at Rangers, and learn from his mistakes.
