Brisbane Roar midfielder Alex Lopez has taken to Twitter to wish Sheffield Wednesday the best of luck against Sheffield United this evening.

Wednesday will take on United away from home at Bramall Lane in the Steel City Derby.

Ahead of the Championship game, 30-year-old midfielder Lopez, now based in Australia, has taken to Twitter to show his support for the Owls.

Some Wednesday fans have responded to the message from the former Spain Under-17 international, who had a spell at the Owls during the 2015-16 campaign on loan from Celta de Vigo.

Big game

United are in better form than the Owls are at the moment, and Chris Wilder’s side will head into the match this evening as favourites.

The Blades are aiming to finish in the top two of the Championship this season, while Wednesday could get dragged into a relegation fight.

Jos Luhukay’s side are 17th in the Championship table at the moment with 19 points from 16 matches, just four points above the relegation zone.

As for United, the Blades currently find themselves third in the standings with 29 points from 16 games.
