Tottenham have been linked to Koray Gunter.

According to Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Koray Gunter.

Gunter plays for Genoa and the 24-year-old has impressed early on this season.

Even so, this is a potential transfer which seems like an odd one for both Tottenham and the player.

Gunter signed for Genoa just this past summer, on a free transfer.

The former Galatasaray and Borussia Dortmund defender is benefitting from playing regularly after bouncing back from an ACL injury suffered in 2016.

Considering his availability in the summer as a free agent, this would be an odd transfer for Tottenham to suddenly sign off on.

If normally shrewd chairman Daniel Levy was going to take a gamble, the summer would have been the time to do it.

Gunter too should have reservations about moving to Tottenham now, where he risks spending more time on the bench than as a regular starter.

We wouldn't recommend Tottenham fans start ordering Gunter shirts just yet.
