Spurs have long been linked with a move for Napoli ace Diawara.
Amadou Diawara's agent Daniele Piraino has told Italian outlet Gonfia La Rete that the midfielder is becoming unhappy with Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti - which could prove a boost for Tottenham Hotspur in the transfer window.
The 21-year-old has only managed six appearances for Napoli in Serie A this season, being completely overlooked for Champions League action by former Chelsea manager Ancelotti.
Transfer Market Web claimed back in the summer that Mauricio Pochettino's side had submitted an offer for the Guinea international, after starring in his 27 league and cup outings last term.
Spurs failed to make any summer signings, but Piraino's comments on his client may suggest that Diawara could be set to look for a new club if he is continually made to wait for game time.
It is obvious that the player is very disappointed at the moment, because he became third choice in the midfield of Napoli," Piraino said. "If it goes on like this, of course we will make some evaluations with the company, because the player starts to be unhappy with his condition".
Spurs still need a central midfielder with Mousa Dembele's contract set to expire at the end of the season. Now in November, there seems to be little chance of the ex-Fulham man signing a new deal.
Diawara is renowned for his excellent stamina and intricate array of passing, and that could make him the perfect signing for Spurs in the January transfer window.
